How Sterling And Dell Are Advancing Federal IT Modernization

Federal agencies are under pressure to modernize the digital workspace while preparing for AI in highly secure environments. At Dell Technologies World, CRNtv host Kena Johnson spoke with Dell partner Megan Moore, VP of Partner Management & Marketing, Sterling, about how agencies are approaching AI-ready endpoints, secure deployments and long-term workspace planning.

Kena Johnson: How has the Sterling and Dell partnership evolved over the years?

Megan Moore: Sterling and Dell have a long history together. We were just named Partner of the Year for the seventh time out of the last 15 years, which speaks to how strong that partnership is. Over the past 30 years, it has grown into a trusted relationship built on secure technology, constant communication and a shared mission to support our customers. Early on, the focus was product deployment. Today, we are helping federal customers plan three to five years out for their entire environment. That includes a more holistic approach with partners like AMD, NVIDIA and Druva, along with a strong emphasis on services, enablement and secure supply chain.

Kena Johnson: How are you helping federal customers modernize their workspaces, especially as AI becomes part of the picture?

Megan Moore: We take a very consultative approach. Sterling and Dell have invested heavily in our solution center, where customers can experience Dell’s full portfolio firsthand. We host demos, workshops and training sessions at our executive briefing center in Washington, D.C., and we also bring those workshops directly to customer locations. From there, we move into operationalized, custom solutions through our deployment centers across the country. Those centers provide services like asset tagging, imaging, configuration and secure warehousing. We are not just delivering devices. We are building mission-aligned environments.

Kena Johnson: What trends and services are you seeing across federal customers, and what will they need to focus on in the year ahead?

Megan Moore: AI solutions are not one-and-done. Most involve multiple technologies, which means ongoing services are more important than ever. Security continues to be a top priority, especially endpoint protection and data management, along with full lifecycle services. Sterling is also a top Dell services partner, which puts us in a strong position to support customers wherever they are in their AI readiness journey. That allows agencies to stay focused on mission outcomes and long-term success.
