Moving Away From Platformization With Open SecOps – ESET And Stellar Cyber
RSA Conference 2025 featured more than 600 exhibitors, underscoring the complexity of today’s cybersecurity landscape. For managed security service providers (MSSPs), that complexity often translates into tool sprawl and operational inefficiencies. In an exclusive interview with CRNtv, Matt Anderson, Vice President of Sales at ESET, and Andrew Homer, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Stellar Cyber, shared how their partnership delivers a unified security operations platform designed to simplify workflows, reduce costs, and improve customer outcomes.
“MSSPs are sick of buying too many tools,” said Homer. “They have legacy tools, they have next-gen tools, they have the latest mousetrap. The important part is how you unify what they’ve already bought for the investment protection.”
The partnership combines ESET’s prevention-first approach with Stellar Cyber’s next-generation SIEM and network detection and response capabilities. This integration enables MSSPs to reduce cost of ownership while improving security workflows. “The unification of a best-of-breed solution stack actually results in better outcomes for customers, including lower costs, investment protection for the tools they’ve already purchased, and an overall improved experience for their customers,” Homer added.
Anderson emphasized the strategic nature of the collaboration: “It was a really easy choice for ESET to partner with Stellar Cyber because they have an amazing platform and MSSP customers, and we have amazing customers on ESET too. We wanted to build something unique to take to the market that was very special.”
Both companies are privately held, which Anderson says gives them a competitive edge in focusing on customer outcomes rather than shareholder value. “It gives us an opportunity to really focus on what matters most and that’s customer outcomes,” Anderson said. “A lot of larger corporations that are publicly traded focus on shareholder value rather than really grinding down and focusing on customer outcomes.”
For MSSPs, this partnership represents a path toward operational efficiency, deeper integration, and improved security posture, all without adding unnecessary complexity.
