NetApp’s Cyber Resilience Solutions Drive Partner Success

These days, partners need dependable tools to help clients build strong cyber resilience strategies while growing their businesses. NetApp’s Intelligent Data Infrastructure is designed to do just that, giving partners the solutions they need to protect and recover critical data in an era of rising cyber threats.

CRNtv host Sydney Neely speaks with Mike Hommer, partner field CTO at NetApp, to discuss how the company’s solutions empower partners to succeed.

Sydney: Cyber resilience has become such a hot topic in the channel. From your perspective, Mike, what does cyber resilience mean for NetApp, and why is it so important for partners to focus on right now?

Mike: NetApp has certainly built their business all around data storage. And if you look at most cyber intrusions and cyberattacks, what are they after? The data. That’s what holds the value. And that’s really where bad organizations try and get leverage over the attacks that they put in place. If we’re holding that data, then we have somewhat of a responsibility to ensure we’re helping partners and customers with all the tools they can to protect that data that is very precious to their organizations.

Sydney: How do your solutions help partners deliver cyber resilience to their clients and solve the challenges they’re facing today?

Mike: Cyber resilience is actually a very large set of challenges. Everything from identity management to who’s accessing what data when and how you backup and protect that data. So, it is important to have a number of different tools that help partners match what the customer’s security concerns are and allow them to build a solution that is tailored for that company.

Sydney: Can you share a story about how one of your partners used NetApp’s solutions to help a client recover from a cyberattack or improve their resilience strategy?

Mike: Because we have a layered approach, it allowed a partner to actually build several stages of protection for a customer, and when they did have an event, it meant that they were able to quickly sort through, isolate the problem, find good clean data and restore it back to production to get that organization functioning faster than if they had been dependent upon a number of different disparate solutions that they would have to stitch together.

Sydney: How can partners leverage NetApp’s solutions to grow their offerings, win new clients and differentiate themselves in the market?

Mike: Security is always a key concern, but it doesn’t always come to the table. So, when they are positioning a storage solution, it gives them the opportunity to have an additional conversation with their customers.

In addition to putting that NetApp storage in place for holding their data, now they can extend that conversation to how they can turn on those features to secure their data, and possibly even lead into broader security conversations that leverage the partners’ own security practices.

NetApp’s comprehensive approach to cyber resilience empowers partners to not only protect their clients’ data but also position themselves as trusted advisors in the marketplace. By leveraging NetApp’s innovative solutions, partners can expand their offerings, attract new clients and drive meaningful business growth.
