Snapdragon X Series: Driving PC Innovation With Ingram Micro

At Ingram Micro ONE, Snapdragon’s X Series platform was among the key discussions shaping the future of compute and creating new opportunities for channel partners. Rob Mosher, WW commercial distribution and partner development leader at Snapdragon, shared how this innovative architecture is transforming the PC marketplace and how Ingram Micro is helping partners capitalize on the shift.

“We are entering into a compute space that has been largely dominated by an x86 architecture that’s been around longer than you and I have been in this industry,” Mosher said. “We’ve taken our learnings from mobility and brought them into compute. By shrinking the motherboard into a system-on-a-chip, we’ve eliminated heat and fans, delivering a better experience and longer battery life.”

The Snapdragon X Series platform is designed to improve Windows performance and enable true mobility. “We’re doing a whole marketing campaign around Performance Unplugged,” Mosher explained. “You no longer need to be married to your power cable. You can use your laptop on your lap without burning your leg.”

Ingram Micro is playing a critical role in bringing this technology to market. “They’re going to be out there evangelizing for us, doing certifications and trainings, building demo programs and helping us really bring this new technology to partners,” Mosher said.

Flexibility is another advantage for solution providers. “We’ve got four different chipsets, 12 core, 10 core and two 8 core options, so partners have choices across price points,” Mosher noted. “And regardless of which chipset you choose, you get the same AI experience across all entry points, which competition can’t offer.”

Looking ahead, Mosher teased what’s next for Snapdragon. “We just announced our second-generation chipset, Snapdragon X Series Gen 2, introducing up to 18 cores and doubling NPU performance from 45 TOPS to 80 TOPS,” he said. “This will transform the AI experience and deliver new form factors and designs from OEMs.”

With Snapdragon and Ingram Micro working together, partners can expect faster innovation, more flexibility and new ways to deliver performance and AI-driven experiences to customers.
