ThreatLocker CEO Urges Solution Providers To Rethink Endpoint Security At XChange Best of Breed 2025
Zero trust was at the core of ThreatLocker’s presentation at XChange Best of Breed 2025. Danny Jenkins, CEO and co-founder of ThreatLocker, opened with a critique of how breaches are often described.
“You’ll always hear those words ‘sophisticated,’ when the reality is they weren’t.” He emphasized that many attacks succeed not because of advanced tactics, but due to basic security oversights. “No one’s going to say someone just walked through the front door because it was wide open,” he said.
The keynote centered on the practical implementation of zero-trust. “It means grant access where access is required,” Jenkins explained. “Detection becomes the validation tool, not our first line of defense.” He encouraged providers to shift from reactive detection to proactive configuration and access control.
Jenkins also introduced ThreatLocker’s new configuration defense feature, designed to scan endpoints for misconfigurations. “Every single one of [the reported attacks] had their configuration wrong,” he noted. The tool checks for compliance issues and sends daily reports, helping MSPs and IT teams stay ahead of vulnerabilities.
He closed with a call to action: “Go to your customers and deliver those same three promises. Because at the end of the day, if you go out of business today, it’s probably because of a cyberattack.”
