Workstation Performance In A Thin Mobile Design

Solution providers navigating fast-rising demand for computers that deliver AI-ready performance without sacrificing mobility and flexibility have a new entry point for high-value customer conversations.

Dell Technologies is expanding its Pro portfolio with the Precision 5 Series, a system designed to bridge the gap between traditional premium business laptops and full mobile workstations while opening the door to new AI-driven opportunities for partners.

For channel partners, the challenge has become familiar: customers want more power to manage today’s more demanding workloads, but they are often unwilling to accept the added size, weight and cost that come with traditional workstations. Dell and AMD say the new Dell Pro Precision 5 effectively answers that challenge with high performance in a thin, go-anywhere design.

“Dell Pro Precision 5 is a perfect system for users who have outgrown premium laptops,” said Daniel Payne, channel account executive, CSG at Dell Technologies. “It gives you the horsepower of a workstation, enabling you to handle all the work tasks you have without worrying about how many tabs you have open or applications you’re running.”

Powered by AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors, the system combines workstation-class performance with a thinner, more mobile design. According to Payne, customers who do not require a dedicated graphics card can still run demanding single and multi-threaded workloads while gaining access to emerging AI applications.

AMD is also emphasizing the platform’s built-in AI capabilities. “AMD and Dell have built a dedicated AI engine into the processor with the NPU,” said Andy Parma, segment director, MNC workstation CPU at AMD.

“These systems are designed to support both traditional workstation applications and newer AI driven workflows,” Parma shared. “Whether you are working with CAD tools or AI-enhanced applications, the platform is built to support both.”

For solution providers, that creates a natural conversation around performance upgrades, mobility and AI adoption without dramatically changing the customer buying journey.
