Why Liquid Networx Chose Fortinet’s SASE Solution As Both A Partner And Customer
For many organizations, the challenge isn't just securing remote teams. It's doing it without the frustration of outdated solutions. Liquid Networx recognizes the need for a more seamless, scalable approach and turns to Fortinet’s Unified SASE as both a partner and a customer.
Robert Short, vice president of Liquid Networx, spoke with CRNtv’s Jon Alba to discuss how Unified SASE has changed the game for his company and how it may help others, as well.
Jon Alba: Liquid Networx has been in IT and security for a long time now, and with all the solutions out there, what made you realize Unified SASE was the perfect fit for your own team?
Robert Short: Well, I think it was a couple of things, with our focus on security first. Fortinet, you know, bringing all of that together. It was something that we could easily deploy in our team in a seamless way without disrupting business operations and being a very effective security solution because we're a remote dispersed organization.
And so, we needed to be able to secure all those endpoints, have all the visibility and not, like I said, disrupt our work environment.
Jon Alba: So, once you put Unified SASE in place, how did it actually change the way that your team operates?
Robert Short: Not at all, to be honest with you. It was great. It was pretty seamless for all the users. And that's what you want. Anytime you're rolling out a security solution, the least amount of disruption that you can get in the organization, the better. What it gave us from a support perspective is the user experience, and things like that. Our team can support those users and look at true endpoint statistics to make sure what the issue is, we can fix it and do it in a secure fashion.”
Jon Alba: Beyond your own team, you also work with a Fortune 200 company to implement Unified SASE. What kind of challenges did they face, and how did the solution help them?
Robert Short: As a global enterprise, they had a lot of data. They have to meet different standards in Europe versus the U.S. They also have a lot of internal documents that they didn't necessarily want or need to send back and forth to the cloud. They wanted those to stay just inside the land. With using their current investments in Fortinet, they were able to keep what belongs inside the land inside and only send out into the cloud what needed to go to the cloud using the SASE agent.
Jon Alba: So, this isn't just a win for businesses. It's a huge opportunity for MSSPs, as well. So, what should MSSPs know about Unified SASE, Robert?
Robert Short: I think the important thing to know about Unified SASE is that all that goes around it, when you're talking about securing an enterprise, it's never just one thing. It's a constant evolution. We like to practice and preach, you know, the K.I.S.S. principle, which is “Keep Information Security Simple.”
And with Unified SASE, we're able to do that. We're able to leverage existing investments. And that's how we roll that out with our customers and not disrupt the enterprise while doing it.
