Why Partners Are Turning To Scale Computing For What’s Next

Editor’s note: This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

Edge infrastructure is growing fast, but too often, the tools partners need to manage it haven’t kept up. Scale Computing is changing that, giving partners the freedom to deploy faster, grow smarter and lead customers into what’s next.

CRNtv host Sydney Neely speaks with Scott Mann, global channel chief and vice president of international sales at Scale Computing, about how they’re rethinking the edge, making it more flexible and giving partners real ways to grow their business.

Sydney: Scale is often described as a “smarter, future-proof platform.” What makes it different from a design and delivery standpoint?

Scott: From the beginning, our platform was designed to be more efficient. Instead of layering components, we built HyperCore to combine server, storage and virtualization into one solution. It’s powered by KVM and managed by an AI engine called AIME, Automated Infrastructure Management Engine, which creates a more autonomous, set-it-and-forget-it experience.

On the delivery side, we’ve made things even simpler with Fleet Manager, our cloud-based management portal. Features like zero-touch provisioning allow partners to deploy infrastructure across thousands of sites without ever setting foot on-site.

Sydney: One of the major changes you’ve rolled out is the Authorized Imaging Partner program. How does that benefit partners?

Scott: The AIP program is a game-changer. It allows certified partners to preinstall and preconfigure Scale Computing software on their own or their customers’ preferred hardware. That means they get to choose the hardware vendor, leverage inventory they already have and speed up delivery without waiting on integration.

It’s one of the top requests we’ve received over the years, right up there with Veeam compatibility, which we’ve also added. AIP gives partners more control, flexibility and the ability to scale globally with fewer shipping barriers.

Sydney: Scale’s FastTrack program has also generated a lot of interest. What makes it so effective?

Scott: There’s a saying: People sell what they know. Even in a virtual world, hands-on experience still matters.

FastTrack gives partners hardware they can test, use for demos and let customers explore hands-on. It helps them understand the architecture, train their teams and build confidence when introducing the platform to clients. That kind of familiarity translates directly into more effective selling.
