AWS Partner ClearScale Launches New Cloud Service To Drive AI And Data Engineering

ClearScale unveils a new cloud service offering for application development, cloud modernization, data architecture and incorporating AI workloads into AWS customers’ applications.

AWS partner ClearScale Thursday launched a new cloud professional service, ClearScale Squads, offering customers solutions for scaling resources, executing on multiple cloud projects and incorporating AI workloads into applications.

“Squads has a data-focused layer to enable organizations to be more prepared when it comes to incorporating AI solutions into their workloads,” Anthony Loss, ClearScale’s director of solution strategy, told CRN. “It can help customers set up data engineering initiatives like data processing—e.g., cleaning, categorizing, labeling, etc.—data analytics and data visualization.”

The San Francisco-based company has earned over 100 AWS certifications and 11 AWS competencies, while also offering custom cloud services via the AWS Marketplace. ClearScale is backed by private equity firm Cohere Capital.

What Is ClearScale Squads?

Squads offers scalable services for application development, cloud modernization, data architecture and data engineering.

Its structure is a consumption-based model with tiered velocity, providing customers with eight levels of engineering consumption options based on their specific needs.

Squads was created due to customer demand for better cloud cost predictability as well as sourcing and retaining skilled cloud engineers. ClearScale created its new hybrid services delivery model to streamline AWS professional services procurement for customers and provide predictable cloud costs.

Squads’ Key Advantage For AWS Customers

One of the key advantages of Squads is its ability to bring together cloud engineering talent who gets to know the customer’s IT team. Loss said this approach not only ensures great outcomes but also addresses issues associated with IT staff growth—such as wasted resources, misaligned direction and accountability issues.

“It stands out by providing multiple tiered buckets of hours within an agile delivery framework,” Loss said. “Squads allows companies to start at a low tier and gradually ramp up to a steady state, with the ability to shift focus areas like application modernization or development with only a 30-day notice.”

ClearScale’s new service delivery model aims to reduce risks by providing rapid iteration and minimizing up-front commitments, with an initial commitment of only four months.

The solution is targeting a range of customers, from enterprises that need additional cloud resources to rapidly growing SMBs and startups that need additional IT expertise. Squads focuses on responding to customer feedback, emphasizing flexibility and client-led goals, as well as cloud project efficiency.

Founded in 2011, ClearScale is an AWS consultancy and systems integrator that designs, implements, optimizes and manages cloud solutions, including database services, cloud migrations, application modernization, generative AI, DevOps and machine learning.
