Amazon Web Services plans to stage a live re:Invent 2021 in Las Vegas this fall after cancelling its in-person annual cloud computing conference for partners and customers last year in favor of a virtual event due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 10th annual AWS re:Invent is scheduled for Nov. 29 to Dec. 3 across multiple venues in Las Vegas. AWS said it would release more information when registration opens June 15, but sponsorship material refers to restaurant receptions at the Venetian Resort. And a new Future Tech Showcase -- the conference space formerly known as The Quad -- will be “reimagined” at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

A virtual version of AWS re:Invent 2021 will also run Nov. 29 to Dec. 10 for those unable to attend in Las Vegas, offering access to keynote and leadership session livestreams and additional “live from re:Invent” content during the first week. On-demand breakout session recordings will be available virtually during the second week.

AWS will release the full conference session catalog and schedule closer to the event.

The AWS’ re:Invent website says the cloud provider is working with local Las Vegas officials to institute the most current safety guidelines during the conference, and capacities and spaces will be monitored to ensure social distance requirements at the time of the event.

“The health and safety of our customers, partners, and employees remains our top priority,” the AWS re:Invent website states. “All attendees are required to comply with health measures in accordance with the AWS Code of Conduct. As we continue to monitor COVID-19, we will follow guidelines from our venues and the Centers for Disease Control. We will update our requirements and guidance as needed.”
