CES 2026 Laptops
Solution providers have seen opportunities to refresh customers’ laptop fleets with Microsoft ending support for its Windows 10 operating system late last year, opening up a new selling opportunity for customers ready for Windows 11. Solution providers have also told CRN that even without Win11 migrations, customers might be ready to replace older models purchased during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and rush to remote work.

HP EliteBook X G2
At CES 2026, HP unveiled its new EliteBook X G2 clamshell, which features a 14-inch display and AI PC performance. Unlike in the first-generation launch of HP’s EliteBook X—which solely featured Intel processors—the EliteBook X G2 Series will offer chips from Qualcomm, AMD and Intel.
The Qualcomm model (the EliteBook X G2q) will be the “world’s first business notebook” that can boast up to 85 trillion operations per second (TOPS) of NPU acceleration for models featuring the “latest” Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, HP said. The top-tier display option, meanwhile, is a “tandem” organic light-emitting diode 3K resolution display, which consists of two OLED panels placed on top of each other.
The result is improved brightness with lower power requirements, according to HP. The lightest-weight model in the new EliteBook X G2 Series is the Intel-equipped clamshell model, the EliteBook X G2i, which offers one configuration that weighs less than 2.2 pounds.
HP is advertising enough battery life to handle video playback for a full day, even for the lightest-weight configuration of the new EliteBook X G2 Series. HP did not release pricing for the EliteBook X G2 series, saying that price details will be made public “closer to availability.” The Intel model (the EliteBook X G2i) is expected to be available in February for “select configurations,” HP said.
The AMD model (EliteBook X G2a) and Qualcomm model are expected to be available “in the spring,” the company said.
HP EliteBook X Flip G2
For the convertible 2-in-1 model of HP’s second-generation EliteBook X Series—the EliteBook X Flip G2i—only Intel processors will be available.
On par with the clamshell model, the 2-in-1 laptop will offer NPU performance of up to 50 TOPS, according to HP.
The PC maker disclosed that the rechargeable pen is another area to see major feature upgrades in the new release. While the pen was previously magnetically attached—as with most such devices in the industry—HP said the pen can now be stored inside the device itself.
In another change, HP has unlocked button customization for the stylus buttons through the new updates.
The stylus buttons can now be mapped to any keyboard shortcut, not just Microsoft apps, according to HP. Display options include a Tandem OLED 3K panel, HP said. Pricing was not disclosed. The convertible EliteBook X Flip G2i is expected to be available in February for “select configurations,” HP said.
Lenovo ThinkPad Rollable XD
Alongside a series of proofs-of-concept Lenovo showed off at CES 2026, the ThinkPad Rollable XD gave attendees a vision of a laptop with dynamically expanding displays that adapt to different work modes.

And the devices have a transparent 180-degree Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover with AI-driven live translation, voice assistant, multimodal and lid-closed interactions.
The computer maker has pursued the “rollable” design with other products in its portfolio like the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, which is among the CES Innovation Award honorees for 2026.
The ThinkBook rollable offers users a 14-inch display that expands vertically to 16.7 inches, according to an online listing. Users can work on a split screen or treat the display as one large screen without the need for an external monitor.
