Power Play: Set Yourself Up for Success with DDIM

Solution providers are adapting DDIM to monitor and manage assets in the ever-changing data environment. Eaton offers tools specifically designed to meet all your DDIM needs.

Eighty percent of enterprises are predicted to shut down their traditional data centers by 2025, according to Gartner. This is prompting businesses to address the needs of hybrid IT environments, like that of cloud computing, distributed IT, on-premise IT and more.

Kevin Mullin, vice president of sales and business development for A-TRAC says he’s already seen a growing trend in his business’s customer base, “A lot of our customers have migrated a lot of their IT infrastructure and applications to the cloud. So for us as resellers and solution providers, we need to adapt as well.”

Solution providers like A-TRAC are adapting a new thought process known as Distributed Digital Infrastructure Management, or DDIM. It integrates tools designed to monitor distributed environments, which allows partners to monitor and manage any asset, anywhere at any time.

Eaton has been out in front of that,” says Mullin. “They allow us to see that pathway of, ‘Here’s how we should be changing our business and adapting.’”

Eaton’s solutions -- rack enclosures and rackmount PDUs, Eaton Intelligence Platform, and lithium ion-battery powered UPSs -- are designed to address DDIM needs, as well as automate, monitor, visualize and predict problems before they happen. You can also provide customers peace of mind knowing Eaton’s gigabit network card is verified to meet U-L 2900-2-2 cybersecurity certifications.

“That’s actually a big differentiator, especially in the different markets that we play in. It just ties into our overall message to our customers,” says Mullin.

“What we’re looking to do is offer a broad solution set for DDIM that they can capitalize on. I see an opportunity, if you’re leading with Eaton, that you’re going to be in a good position to win,” says Del Misenheimer, senior vice president and general manager of power quality at Eaton.

The traditional data center is going away. Leveraging Eaton’s solutions will allow you to offer services that will support your customers’ ever-evolving hybrid IT requirements.
