Cyber Threat Report: Capturing The Cloud Security Opportunity

Learn how the launch of Sophos Cloud Optix demonstrates Sophos’ commitment to providing solution providers a more well-rounded security portfolio.

Hackers are targeting organizations’ cloud environments, as the worldwide public cloud market continues to grow. As a result, security and visibility in cloud platforms is becoming a big business challenge, and it is crucial that customers are properly trained to protect the technology.

“We’re building significant programs around our public cloud offering to make sure that our partners not only understand the solutions, but also can be profitable on them,” says Regina Vignone, east channel sales director for Sophos.

Those programs are critical for solution providers, especially in light of findings from a recent Sophos report, “Exposed: Cyberattacks on Cloud Honeypots.” The research identified that it only takes an average of 40 minutes for a hacker to attack a new, exposed cloud device once it comes online. “We rely on Microsoft and Amazon to make sure they’re protecting the perimeter of the network,” says Frank Slattery, vice president of operations for the Northeast Massachusetts division of TeamLogic IT.

Slattery ensures that protection by partnering with channel-first vendors like Sophos. Sophos Cloud Security Provider Program offers sales opportunities and pipeline to solution providers who become educated in the space. It also allows partners to take advantage of back-end rebates on solutions sold with AWS and Azure. “And, we’re committing marketing resources, funds and specific campaigns to help attract more opportunities for our partner base,” says Vignone.

Sophos is also committed to providing partners a more well-rounded security portfolio. With the launch of Sophos Cloud Optix, solution providers can better manage on-premise and cloud infrastructures with the backing of a vendor that has expertise in the cloud security space.

“As an MSP, you can hit a much broader base of customers who are anywhere along that spectrum of migration to the cloud,” says Dan Schiappa, chief product officer for Sophos. This allows partners to upsell, cross-sell and become the trusted advisor clients need.
