The 10 Coolest IoT Software Companies: The 2022 Internet Of Things 50

Vendors in IoT software range from startups to the largest cloud providers. From Deeplite and Zyter to Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, see who made the grade in CRN’s 10 coolest IoT software companies of 2022.

Simplifying IoT Development, Deployment And Management

The global IoT technology market is forecast to grow from $384.5 billion in 2021 to $566.4 billion by 2027 – a CAGR of 6.7 percent, according to a recent report from MarketsandMarkets.

That growth is being fueled by a number of factors including increasingly decentralized data centers and disbursed cloud networks, widespread adoption of 5G communications, and the rapidly growing number of smart sensors and devices connected to wireless networks.

IoT software is a big component of that overall market including IoT applications for specific tasks such as managing building HVAC systems, linking industrial systems in a manufacturing plant or collecting data from sensors in a farmer’s field. The IoT software category also includes development tools for building IoT applications, software for deploying and managing IoT applications and networks.

Many of the industry’s biggest software providers compete in the IoT space including Amazon Web Services with its AWS IoT services and solutions and Microsoft with its Azure IoT offerings. But some of the most innovative IoT software being developed today is coming from a wave of startups focused specifically on IoT challenges and opportunities.

As part of CRN’s 2022 Internet of Things 50 list, here are the 10 coolest IoT software companies that are driving innovation in the IoT arena.

Amazon Web Services

Adam Selipsky, CEO

Less than a year into Adam Selipsky’s role as CEO of Amazon Web Services, the cloud giant has launched some eye-catching products in the IoT space. From the AWS IoT Rapid Adoption Assistance Initiative to AWS IoT TwinMaker, not to mention efforts to expand 5G, AWS continues to show how a cloud giant dominates the IoT space.
