Here Are Dell’s Top 5 Most Highly Compensated Executives

Mark Haranas

Fiscal year 2021 was a great year for Dell Technologies as it continues to transform itself. Here are Dell’s five most highly compensated executives.

Michael Dell, Founder, Chairman, CEO

Total FY21 Compensation: $930,400

Total FY20 Compensation: $3.36 Million

Michael Dell is currently ranked the No. 30 wealthiest person in the world by Forbes with a net worth of $50.2 billion as of May 17. Dell will also hold a 41 percent stake in VMware after his company spins out VMware to Dell Technologies shareholders later this year. So although his total compensation is less than $1 million, the vast majority of Michael Dell’s wealth is in stocks and his various private ventures such as his new special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), MSD Acquisition Corp.

On April 7, 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic was rapidly spreading across the globe and forcing lock-downs, Michael Dell agreed to forgo his base salary for fiscal year 2021—except the necessary funding needed to participate in Dell’s health and welfare benefits plans—resulting in a 73 percent reduction in his salary. Dell’s voluntary salary cut also affected his target bonus opportunity and other compensation areas.

For fiscal year 2021, Michael Dell’s salary was $255,700. His non-equity incentive plan compensation was $665,000 with all other compensation totaling roughly $10,000, bringing Michael Dell’s total compensation to $930,400.
