Raghuram Will Report Directly To VMware’s Board Of Directors
In VMware’s SEC filing, the company says CEO Raghuram will report directly to the VMware board of directors. As the new leader of VMware, he will be nominated for election to the board.
However, it is key to note that VMware’s chairman of the board is, and will continue to be, Michael Dell (pictured) -- founder, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies.
Dell Technologies is set to spin off its 81 percent majority stake in VMware later this year to Dell Technologies shareholders, the biggest of which is Michael Dell.
Michael Dell is the current chairman of the board for both Dell Technologies and VMware. When the spin-off of VMware is complete, which will be sometime in the fourth quarter of 2021, Michael Dell will continue to be chairman of both Dell and VMware.
However, with VMware set to become as an independent company for the first time since 2004, Raghuram is excited about the new possibilities and opportunities ahead.
