Leading ServiceNow Partner Thirdera Grows Digital Design Expertise With Acquisition

Thirdera, a ServiceNow Elite partner, is launching the new Thirdera Digital business unit based on its acquisition of Appoxio and its user experience/user interface design and development capabilities.


Thirdera, a fast-growing solution provider in the ServiceNow arena, has acquired UX/UI designer Appoxio and is building a digital experience business unit around the Appoxio staff and technology.

Thirdera said Wednesday that the acquisition, the company’s fifth this year, is complete.

“We think this will unlock the next level of user experience and value” of the ServiceNow workflow platform, said Thirdera CEO Jason Wojahn (pictured) in an interview with CRN.

The addition of the Appoxio capabilities will help Thirdera “drive adoption and drive user engagement and user satisfaction” of the ServiceNow software, Wojahn said.

Thirdera, based in Leesburg, Va., is part of a quickly expanding ecosystem around ServiceNow and its cloud-based platform for building digital workflows. Just last week ServiceNow partner Highmetric acquired fellow ServiceNow partner NewRocket.

In August 2020, NTT Data Services expanded its presence in the ServiceNow space by acquiring Acorio, ServiceNow’s 2020 Industry Solutions Partner of the Year. And Computer Design & Integration’s recent deal to buy Candoris was, in part, a move to acquire more ServiceNow expertise.

Thirdera, an Elite-level ServiceNow partner, calls itself the world’s largest pureplay ServiceNow partner. “Everything we do is in the context of ServiceNow,” Wojahn said.

Thirdera launched early this year following the merger of three ServiceNow solution provider partners: Evergreen Systems, Cerna Solutions and NovoScale – all owned by private equity firm Sunstone Partners. In May the company expanded into the Asia-Pacific region with the acquisition of Service Line Solutions, a ServiceNow partner based in Australia.

Appoxio is a user experience/user interface design agency focused on providing UX/UI design, portal development, and custom application and integration services for the ServiceNow platform. A Premier-level ServiceNow partner, Appoxio was founded in 2018 by CEO Frank Schuster, who previously worked at ServiceNow.

The addition of Appoxio’s UI/UX capabilities to Thirdera’s expertise will allow Thirdera to provide customers with more application and content design services, making ServiceNow-based solutions more “people-focused” and accessible, according to the company, and helping businesses and organizations streamline ServiceNow adoption.

“Designing and developing an interactive and intuitive user experience is more than just putting a pretty portal on a system,” Wojahn said. “It’s really important that we meet customers where they are on the adoption curve.”

Appoxio, based in Calgary, Alberta, will become the hub of the new Thirdera Digital (3D) business unit and continue to focus on user experience design. Schuster is now Thirdera’s senior vice president of 3D, reporting to Wojahn, and Appoxio’s approximately 40 employees are expected to remain with the company.

Thirdera, meanwhile, has continued to expand in the U.S., Canada and Latin America, adding some 150 employees in just the last 100 days, bringing its total employment to more than 465, Wojahn said.
