From sales presidents to cybersecurity leaders, here are 10 Broadcom and VMware executives who exited the IT giant in 2025 as revenue hit record highs.

From presidents and vice presidents of sales to CISOs and top innovators, Broadcom and VMware by Broadcom saw several high-profile executive departures in 2025.

This includes Broadcom’s president of Americas sales, the CISO for its Enterprise Security Group, a co-founder of VMware Research Group and more.

Many of these executives left to join companies including Nvidia, Snowflake and Citrix.

Broadcom’s Q4 2025 Earnings

Before jumping into the Broadcom executive departures, here’s a look at Broadcom’s financial earnings results for its recent fourth quarter of 2025.

The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company generated record revenue of $18 billion, representing an increase of 28 percent year over year.

Net income for Broadcom in the quarter reached $8.5 billion, up nearly 100 percent compared with $4.3 billion in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Infrastructure software sales, which include VMware, increased 39 percent year over year to $6.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025.

For its entire fiscal year 2025, Broadcom generated total revenue of $63.9 billion, up 24 percent year over year.

As Broadcom reaches new revenue heights, here are the 10 executives who left the company in 2025.

Michael Gannon

Former Broadcom Position: President, Americas Sales

New Position: CRO, Snowflake

Gannon was president of Americas sales for Broadcom, where he was responsible for integrating the VMware go-to-market functions into Broadcom and absorbing the professional services team.

He spent over a decade at VMware and Broadcom building, developing and leading high-caliber sales teams.

Gannon left Broadcom this year to become CRO of Snowflake, responsible for the company’s revenue and go-to-market teams.

Snowflake CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy said Gannon’s experience “developing world-class organizations in highly competitive markets, and scaling operations during high-growth periods, makes him the right leader to drive Snowflake’s next phase of innovation and scale.”

Prior to VMware, Gannon held top sales leadership roles at EMC and Isilon Systems.

“This will mark the end of an incredible 11-year journey at VMware by Broadcom, where I had the privilege to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry—it’s bittersweet to say goodbye,” Gannon said on LinkedIn this year.

“At Snowflake, I am looking forward to leveraging the power of data to unlock innovation and fuel business and modern operating models,” he added.

Raymond Lipps

Former Broadcom Position: CISO, Enterprise Security Group

New Position: VP, Field CISO, Cyber Security Advisor, Citrix

Longtime cybersecurity veteran Lipps was the CISO for Broadcom’s Enterprise Security Group.

Broadcom’s security group represents its Symantec and Carbon Black offerings for network, endpoint and application security.

He left Broadcom this year to join Citrix as its vice president and field CISO.

This year, Lipps was named a 2025 winner of the HMG Strategy Global Leadership Institute Awards at the New York CISO and Technology Leadership Summit.

“Big congratulations to our Field CISO Raymond Lipps,” said Citrix in a LinkedIn post this year. “These awards honor leaders who are driving innovation and shaping the future. We’re proud to have him on our team.”

Prior to joining Broadcom in 2023, Lipps spent decades in top cybersecurity positions for companies including Citi, JPMorgan Chase, Celgene and EY.

Jennifer Chronis

Former Broadcom Position: VP, Public Sector

New Position: VP, U.S. Public Sector, Snowflake

Chronis has over a decade of experience working for Amazon Web Services, Verizon and IBM in various top public sector and government roles.

She was vice president of VMware’s public sector before Broadcom acquired VMware. Chronis then transitioned to vice president of public sector for Broadcom.

She left Broadcom this year to join Snowflake as its vice president of U.S. public sector.

“Excited to be joining the Snowflake team,” she said in a LinkedIn post earlier this year.

“What an exciting time to be at Snowflake! The results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at the company,” she said. “It's amazing to be building the future of AI and data with such a talented group of people.”

Chronis is also a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel with 21 years of total service.

Daniel Beveridge

Former Broadcom Position: Director, Co-Innovation, IP Development, VMware

New Position: CTO, Layer IQ

Beveridge spent over a decade as a top innovator at VMware, including director of co-innovation and IP development where he identified and cultivated early stage innovation opportunities.

He worked at VMware on a range of innovation projects and technology around VDI, cloud resource brokering, hypervisor technologies and edge computing, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Beveridge was also a distinguished engineer for VMware’s Research Group at Broadcom where he connected research with product opportunities.

He left Broadcom by VMware after 15 years with the company to join Layer IQ as its new CTO.

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Technology Officer at Layer IQ! We’re tackling the challenges of environmentally aware IT decision making with advanced platform technology that illuminates cost, risk, compliance factors, to name a few,” Beveridge said on LinkedIn this year. “I’m excited to take on this new challenge and build a product that really makes a difference for business and the planet.”

Thomas Thorpe

Former Broadcom Position: VP, CRO, Enterprise Security Group

New Position: Unknown

Thorpe spent several years as vice president and CRO for Broadcom’s Enterprise Security Group.

He was the go-to-market leader for Broadcom’s vast security portfolio, which included Symantec and Carbon Black offerings.

He oversaw $1.1 billion in active contracts and led hundreds of global team members across the globe, including direct and channel leaders, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“After nearly eight years at Symantec/Broadcom, it’s time to change the photo and look forward to the next chapter,” Thorpe said in a LinkedIn post this year.

“I wish everyone at Broadcom Enterprise Security Group, the custodians of Symantec and Carbon Black technologies, every success for the future,” he added.

Prior to Symantec, Thorpe held top executive roles at HPE, Westcon and Blue Coat Systems.

Lars Wermer

Former Broadcom Position: VP, Commercial, Partner Sales

New Position: VP, Global Renewals, Customer Retention, Igel Technology

Wermer was head of VMware’s perpetual and SaaS renewal business in the Americas for 12 years before Broadcom acquired the company.

He was appointed vice president of Broadcom’s commercial and partner sales.

Wermer left Broadcom this summer to join Igel Technology as its vice president of global renewals and customer retention.

“Igel is changing the rules of IT resilience,” said Wermer in a recent LinkedIn post. “What once took weeks of downtime now takes just minutes.”

Rob Greer

Former Broadcom Position: GM, VP, Enterprise Security Group

New Position: CEO, ExtraHop

Greer previously led Broadcom’s Enterprise Security Group as general manager and vice president before leaving to become CEO of ExtraHop this year.

Greer oversaw the merger of Broadcom’s Carbon Black with the Symantec business last year, which created the company’s Enterprise Security Group.

“I have made the tough decision to leave Broadcom where I have spent the past 5 years. It has been a once in a lifetime business, product and organizational transformation experience starting with Symantec and culminating with Carbon Black,” said Greer on LinkedIn this year.

In 2019, he joined Broadcom as vice president of the Information Security Group for Symantec by Broadcom.

Greer is a longtime top cybersecurity executive with decades of experience, including being Forescout Technologies’ former CTO, as well as key roles at network security organizations like HP Tipping Point, Blue Coat Systems and SonicWall.

Roy Borden

Former Broadcom Position: VP, Worldwide Partner Sales

New Position: Applied AI, Automation Lead, PrismAlpha

Borden is a longtime CA Technologies and Broadcom veteran with over 25 years working at both companies.

After Broadcom acquired CA in 2018, he became vice president of global partner distribution and reseller sales.

“At Broadcom as Vice President of Worldwide Partner Sales, I designed and executed an industry-first business model, negotiating at C-suite and board levels with select strategic global partners,” said Borden on LinkedIn.

“This shift streamlined channel operations, boosting efficiency and margins while cutting overhead. It gave partners more ownership over the customer lifecycle, strengthening regional alignments and improving customer outcomes via local support,” he added. “The model delivered stable growth, enabling Broadcom to prioritize engineering, acquisitions, integrations, and major account management while creating partner opportunities.”

He left Broadcom this year to join PrismAlpha.

Tim Hammill

Former Broadcom Position: VP, Sales, U.S. West

New Position: Unknown

Hammill spent nearly a decade at VMware in top sales roles.

He transitioned to vice president of sales at Broadcom, U.S. West, tasked with leading the company’s most strategic enterprise and global customers in the region.

“It’s been an honor to help lead through one of the largest tech acquisitions in history—navigating the Broadcom purchase of VMware and driving the integration of our Global and Enterprise businesses,” Hammill said on LinkedIn.

“The journey wasn’t always easy, but the resilience, focus, and professionalism you all brought to the table was nothing short of remarkable,” he said.

Prior to VMware, he spent a decade at Cisco as well as eight years at Unisys.

Hammill said on LinkedIn that he was taking a “pause” on his career to “recharge before diving into what’s next.”

Marcos Aguilera

Former Broadcom Position: Distinguished Engineer

New Position: Distinguished Engineer, Nvidia

Aguilera joined VMware 10 years ago as a co-founder of the VMware Research Group.

“We grew the team to 40 world-class researchers and established VMware Research Group as one of the industry research orgs with the highest density of talent,” said Aguilera on LinkedIn. “Internally, we completed a number of high-impact technology transfers to product groups each year.”

His research oversaw areas like artificial intelligence and machine learning to distributed systems, storage and virtualization.

Prior to VMware, Aguilera was a senior researcher at Microsoft, as well as a research scientist for Hewlett Packard.

Aguilera took his engineering talents to Nvidia earlier this year.

“I am now starting a new job as a Distinguished Engineer in Nvidia, where I’ll apply my systems skills to improve the reliability of AI infrastructure, while learning more deeply about the hardware technologies at the center of AI,” Aguilera said.
