Dell’s Federal Systems CTO Jumps To Intel As Public Sector GM

Dell Technologies’ top technologist for its federal systems business, Cameron Chehreh, has left the PC and infrastructure giant to become general manager of Intel’s public sector business.
“I am very eager to get to work with Intel and join a company of brilliant minds that create technology that truly changes the world,” said Chehreh, former CTO and vice president for Dell Technologies’ federal business, in a recent LinkedIn post. “I close one great chapter of my career with Dell and I look forward with great anticipation and excitement to join Intel.”
Chehreh was recruited in 2015 to be Dell’s first CTO for its federal business, responsible for bringing efficient and effective digital transformational solutions to the U.S. federal government and public sector. In his role, Chehreh was responsible for strategy execution, leadership and innovation management for Dell’s Department of Defense, civilian government and intelligence community markets, according to his Dell bio.

Chehreh managed Dell’s go-to-market strategy and solution delivery model for delivering new solutions to federal customers around cybersecurity, cloud computing security, Internet of Things, big data, advanced analytics and end-user computing, according to Chehreh’s LinkedIn bio. Chehreh did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
“I want to thank my many colleagues and friends who have been on this professional journey with me. Without you I would not have achieved anything in my career. All of you know who you are and I am grateful for all of your mentorship, friendship and coaching when I needed it the most,” said Chehreh.
Prior to joining Dell in 2015, Chehreh worked for General Dynamics Information Technology as CTO of commercial cybersecurity services. Before GDIT, he was senior vice president, general manager and CTO of solution provider OAO Technology Solutions, which merged with Pomeroy IT Solutions in 2010.
Intel Hires Oracle Executive
Intel, which hosted its annual Intel Investor Day event Thursday, also recently hired Oracle executive Janet George to lead the chipmaker’s Cloud and Enterprise Solutions Group. George was a vice president at Oracle, leading its cloud-native, edge, machine learning and AI strategic transformations.
The on-boarding of George is part of Intel’s reorganization of its Data Center and AI Group.
“These organizational changes will help us accelerate our pace to be the preferred provider of industry-leading compute solutions for our customers today and build a foundation for the data center of tomorrow,” said Intel Executive Vice President and General Manager Sandra Rivera, who was named the leader of the Data Center and AI Group by Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger last summer.
On the Dell front, the Round Rock, Texas-based company launched its new Dell Technologies Partner Program this month that includes one incentive structure, one tier structure and one set of tier requirements for all of Dell cloud services providers, OEM partners and channel partners.
Dell is set to release its fourth-quarter financial earnings results Feb. 24.
