10 Security Vendors Making Big Moves At Black Hat 2025

Top cybersecurity vendors unveiled major new partnerships, acquisitions and hires this week in Las Vegas.

A number of major players in the cybersecurity industry unveiled big moves this week in connection with the Black Hat USA 2025 conference.

Along with product launches in fast-growing categories, top security vendors have also unveiled significant new partnerships, acquisitions and hires.

Black Hat USA 2025, held this week in Las Vegas, takes place through Thursday, Aug. 7.

What follows are the key details on 10 security vendors making big moves at Black Hat 2025.

SentinelOne To Acquire Prompt Security

SentinelOne said Tuesday it has reached a deal to acquire a startup focused on securing AI and agentic technologies, Prompt Security, in the company’s latest move to enable AI adoption.

Specific financial terms of the cash-and-stock deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of SentinelOne’s fiscal 2026, which ends Oct. 31.

The planned acquisition aims to boost SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform with capabilities that will provide real-time visibility into access of AI tools and the data that’s being shared as well as automated enforcement for preventing attacks and misuse, the vendor said.

Keyfactor Hires Trend Micro Veteran As Channel Chief

Keyfactor said Monday it has hired Louise McEvoy, a former longtime channel sales executive at Trend Micro, as its new channel chief to lead an effort to double down on partners.

The identity security vendor said in a news release that it has appointed McEvoy to serve as senior vice president of global channel sales.

From her time serving at Trend Micro for nearly a decade, McEvoy brings deep experience in developing modern partnering strategies to the role at Keyfactor, the vendor said.

DXC, 7AI Launch Agentic AI Partnership

Technology services provider giant DXC unveiled a partnership Monday with AI-powered security startup 7AI to launch a new DXC Agentic Security Operations Center.

The DXC Agentic Security Operations Center combines DXC’s security operations capabilities with autonomous AI agents from 7AI to offer end-to-end managed security operations, including ingesting alerts, investigating potential issues and remediation, according to Chris Drumgoole, president of DXC’s Global Infrastructure Services business.

The partnership with 7AI—which has called itself the “first” agentic security platform capable of fully utilizing the capabilities of GenAI for cyber defense—is DXC’s first foray into agentic, Drumgoole told CRN.

Sophos, Rubrik Debut Joint Microsoft 365 Backup Service

Cybersecurity vendors Sophos and Rubrik unveiled a new partnership Tuesday that aims to improve cyber resilience for Microsoft 365 (M365) users.

The partnership has led to the launch of a new joint offering, Sophos M365 Backup and Recovery Powered by Rubrik, which is intended to assist partners and customers with boosting protection against threats such as ransomware and data loss.

The add-on offering—available to Sophos managed detection and response (MDR) and extended detection and response (XDR) users—ultimately aims to provide rapid recovery for critical Microsoft 365 data, the companies said.

Arctic Wolf Integrates With Microsoft

Arctic Wolf unveiled several major integrations Tuesday for its Aurora security operations platform, which aim to enhance the flexibility and openness of the offering.

The announcement includes a notable integration with Microsoft’s extended detection and response product, Defender XDR, which “underscores” the commitment to openness by Arctic Wolf—“ensuring organizations can achieve strong security outcomes regardless of endpoint vendor,” the company said in a news release.

Other product integrations unveiled by Arctic Wolf include Oracle Cloud Guard, OneLogin and the CyberArk Privileged Access Manager.

Fortinet Adds Cloud-Delivered Identity

Fortinet said Wednesday that it has expanded its FortiCloud offering with the addition of FortiIdentity, which aims to deliver cloud-based identity management through the platform.

The vendor said the identity and access management capabilities of FortiIdentity will offer a “cloud-native approach to secure identity management” with the option to now deliver the offering via FortiCloud.

Fortinet also unveiled two beta services Wednesday, FortiDrive and FortiConnect, focused on providing secure storage and communications, the company said in a news release.

Contrast Security Integrates with GitHub, Sumo Logic

Contrast Security said Monday that it has integrated its application detection and response offering with two key platforms to “make runtime security even more accessible and effective,” the company said in a news release.

A new integration with GitHub Copilot will enable the Contrast SmartFix tool to streamline the generation of code security fixes through utilizing insight such as data on runtime vulnerabilities and exploitability, Contrast Security said.

A second integration for Contrast Security, with SIEM provider Sumo Logic, will enable Contrast’s attack telemetry to directly flow into the Sumo Logic platform, according to the company.

CrowdStrike Launches AI Security Assessment

CrowdStrike said Wednesday it will now offer an AI Systems Security Assessment to provide partners and customers with a clearer understanding of AI usage in their environment, with a focus on pinpointing risk and methods to strengthen security and governance.

The cybersecurity giant also debuted AI for SecOps Readiness, a new service that aims to provide an assessment of AI readiness for security operations teams.

ThreatLocker Launches New Tool, Gains FedRAMP Status

ThreatLocker unveiled the launch Tuesday of a new tool, Defense Against Configurations, which aims to provide partners and customers with real-time and comprehensive insight into vulnerabilities within their environments.

The MSP-focused security vendor also said that it has achieved FedRAMP status for a “special deployment of its suite of solutions operating in a government-only cloud,” the company said in a news release.

Skyhawk Security Integrates With Wiz

Cloud threat detection and response provider Skyhawk Security Monday unveiled an integration with cloud and AI security powerhouse Wiz aimed at dramatically reducing alert noise.

Through the integration, customers have reported seeing a 99 percent reduction in alert volume, Skyhawk said in a news release.
